well your computer is good enough for a long time. no reason to waste so much money for a little upgrade. why did you buy older generation cpu / gpu in the first place?

It began as a starter build to be able to play games at better settings.. but as I got into it, I wanted a semi decent performance build..  CPU was chosen just because I got a good deal on it.  $200 through offerup.. GPU was the same.. got a great deal off a buddy who was upgrading.. $300 bucks for the card with almost 2 years warranty still on it.  Once I had those 2 core components, everything else came together..

wow that's a really good price. I paid only a little bit less for only a rx 580 + ryzen 2600 last year and your system easily destoys mine. a reason more to keep it to not ruin this good deal. I would wait until after ps5 release and check its performance and how your computer can keep up with it.

Honestly think this is the wrong move.
Next year there will be machines (consoles) that releaseing were the default will be 4k 60fps, and probably be as powerfull as that PC you built.
However with console code to metal, the advantages will be there. Now with deminishing returns (in visuals) and with how many exclusives consoles get...

PC master race is a thing of the past.
Doesnt make nearly as much sense now, as it did like 10 years or more ago.

the term pc master race itself maybe. but there is nothing wrong in buying one now. I think now it's even the best time for it. during the ps3 era you would be lucky to get a pc version of a game, now a pc version is certain. every ms game releases on it, almost any non first party sony exlusive release on it, even best versions of any game from old ps1-4 era. tons of older games, many exclusive or early exclusive indie games. you could even count emulators. well and you do things besides playing games on it.
