Competition is good. It is just one more icon on desktop. Good to check prices from all these plats and buy on the cheapest.

But it is strange coming from Rockstar, which releases a game on PC 2-3 years after the consoles.

Sure, until it becomes so crowded that nobody can makes sense of all these icons they've got on their dekstop. Gotta understand that at some point, too much is just too much.

Also the "cheaper prices" ideal doesn't hold weight, not when Blizz games are locked to their client, and what we soon might see with R* games. Pubs want more of the cut, and they don't want competition forcing them to lower their prices (at least nowhere as soon as literally every other game within a 1 yr span).

I too am sick of seeing pubs going for clients of their own, because a majority of themm just toss out a barebones client, completely forgo modding support, and just raise the prices, while refusing to sell other games from 3rd parties. GoG and Steam still hold the higher spots for selling indie/AA/AAA games, compared to all the other clients.

We're also approaching 10 clients, and that's excluding all the stand-alone game launchers as well. We seem to be regressing back to the old days of littered desktops and taskbars. Trading convenience for pubs getting more and more money, which hardly seems like a pro trade for the consumer, since we get absolutely nothing out of them trying to litter and fracture everything.

Anyone in this thread who believes that this client will add to "healthy" competition needs to get their head from out of their backside and read the market. R* isn't in it for competing, it's about wanting to make 100% of the profits. Same as ubisoft, EA, Activision, Blizzard etc. If anyone wants R* to "compete", then ask them to support indies, sell tons of indie and other 3rd party titles onto their storefront, while giving mod support, and then we can talk competition.
