Friday news, part two:

Endless Space 2: Awakening introduces a new faction and the Academy Empire
https://www.pcgamer.com/endless-space-2-awakening-introduces-a-new-faction-and-the-academy-empire/
Endless Space 2's Awakening expansion is out now, introducing yet another weird faction to the peculiar Endless universe. The Nakalim faction, once a huge empire, has seen better days, and now waits for the return of their gods. But they'll make time for galactic conquest, too.

Dauntless is leaving early access... again
https://www.pcgamer.com/dauntless-is-leaving-early-access-again/
Dauntless, Phoenix Labs' monster slaying co-op game, is leaving early access soon, apparently, despite doing the exact same thing in May. That was the official launch, but it won't hit 1.0 until later this month. Untangling the release state of a game is hard work these days.

The Binding of Isaac developer halts work with Nicalis over allegations of racism and abuse
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-binding-of-isaac-developer-halts-work-with-nicalis-over-allegations-of-racism-and-abuse/
The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen has halted plans to work with indie publisher Nicalis on two of his upcoming games, including the recently announced The Legend of Bum-bo. McMillen made the decision following a Kotaku report containing allegations of racism, abusive behavior, and dubious business practices at the company.

Sea of Thieves updates: Latest patch notes from update 2.0.7
https://www.pcgamer.com/sea-of-thieves-update/
Sea of Thieves is expanding its horizons. The jumbo-sized free Anniversary update added Tall Tales quests and brand new PvP. As of July 2019, Sea of Thieves now receives monthly content updates that give players new reasons to climb aboard their ships and set sail with a tankard full of grog. The centerpieces of monthly updates are Voyages, a new repeatable (limited time) quest type themed around the latest event.
Sea of Thieves's September update event, Smuggler's Fortune, adds new voyages and brand new pirate pets. Read on to see everything that Smuggler's Fortune has to offer.

The Game Awards is coming back in December
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-game-awards-are-coming-back-in-december/
The Game Awards are kind of like the Super Bowl, in that we are nominally there to watch the event but the advertisements are what we're really paying attention to. That's not necessarily a bad thing, particularly when it comes to TGAs, because so many of the ads are announcements for brand new games, which are (sometimes, at least) legitimately exciting and informative.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep gets updated content roadmap and weapon buff breakdown
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-shadowkeep-gets-updated-content-roadmap-and-weapon-buff-breakdown/
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and New Light are coming on October 1, which will see major structural changes to the game, the kickoff of a new season—Season of the Undying—and a move to free-to-play for much of the game's older content. There's a lot going on, and to ensure everyone has a proper understanding of what exactly is happening, Bungie dropped a new "Shadowkeep and Season of the Undying Calendar" in the latest This Week at Bungie Update.

Mutazione is a 'mutant soap opera' due out next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/mutazione-is-a-mutant-soap-opera-due-out-next-week/
Indie studio Die Gute Fabrik are the developers of Sportsfriends, but their next game is something a little bit different. Mutazione is apparently a "mutant soap opera" where you play a 15-year-old girl named Kai who travels to an isolated community called Mutazione that is full of unusual characters—a cat-lady who plays guitar, an angry bug, a mischievous bean thing, some kind of radish person, and plenty more I can barely describe.

Shoot robots and wall-run in the impressive free demo for Arsenal Demon
https://www.pcgamer.com/shoot-robots-and-wall-run-in-the-impressive-free-demo-for-arsenal-demon/
It's you versus a bunch of robot angels in the demo for Arsenal Demon: a kinetic first-person shooter with a delightfully chunky, retro art style, and hefty guns.
As in Devil Daggers, you're simply trying to survive for as long as possible here, as waves of robots swarm towards you, hungry for blood. You have several guns at your disposal, that you can map to either the left or right mouse buttons, meaning you can dual-wield a shotgun with a flamethrower, a revolver with a minigun, or any other combination of those four weapons.

Hot Lava, Klei's sizzling parkour game, is arriving next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/hot-lava-kleis-sizzling-parkour-game-is-arriving-next-week/
After a year in open beta, Hot Lava is almost ready for release. With Oxygen Not Included appearing in July, along with the Early Access launch of Griftlands, I confess I'd forgotten all about Klei's first-person parkour game, despite its abundance of personality. To mark the impending launch, you can watch another brief episode of Global Action Heroes, Klei's homage to cartoons like G.I. Joe.

Kind Words is a sweet game about supporting strangers
https://www.pcgamer.com/kind-words-is-a-sweet-game-about-supporting-strangers/
Kind Words is a peculiar game about writing nice letters to real strangers while listening to chill music. There's no pressure, tension or objectives—you just relax in your cozy bedroom, scribbling away. It's incredibly sweet, with a surreal but reassuring atmosphere. A deer delivers your mail! I love it.
