https://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/square-enix-showcases-next-gen-characters-in-luminous-engine-with-path-tracing/
A few days ago, we shared a video showing real-time path tracing effects in the Luminous Engine. Luminous Productions has collaborated with NVIDIA in order to create that path tracing tech demo at CEDEC 2019. However, the team has also presented some truly amazing next-gen characters.
Below you can find some of the characters that Luminous Productions showcased during the CEDEC 2019 event. As we can see, these character models look absolutely incredible. The level of detail is truly amazing, and will give you an idea of what we can expect from next-gen games.

MODS/EMULATORS

New build of the Nintendo Switch emulator, yuzu, adds Resolution Scaler, fixes visual glitches & more
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-build-of-the-nintendo-switch-emulator-yuzu-adds-resolution-scaler-fixes-visual-glitches-more/
The team behind the open source Nintendo Switch emulator, yuzu, has released a brand new version of it. According to the team, this new build for yuzu adds support for a Resolution Scaler. As its name suggests, this scaler increases native resolution through a set of rules enforced by a profile.
Going into more details, when this option is active, yuzu will continuously learn more about your specific games rendering methods. The emulator will also help create a resolution profile for the games you’ll be using it. Once the emulator generates a profile, the user can then select what multiplier they would like to increase their resolution by (2x, 4x, etc).

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/someone-is-working-on-a-native-pc-version-of-super-mario-64-first-tech-video-released/
Super Mario 64 is a classic Nintendo 64 platformer featuring our favourite plumber. Naturally, and like with almost all first-part Mario games, this title never came out on the PC. However, that’s about to change as someone is currently working on a native PC version of this N64 game.
This project is still in a really early development stage and is based on the decompiled repo that came out recently on github. Moreover, this project will require the Nintendo 64 version for loading its assets. In other words, you’ll need a N64 ROM for Super Mario 64.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-mod-brings-a-cool-boss-rush-mode-to-sekiro-shadows-die-twice/
Modder ‘thefifthmatt’ has released pretty cool mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. As its title suggests, the Boss Rush mod adds a separate game mode in which you can fight bosses and minibosses in any order, and as many times as you want.
Players are able to select bosses and minibosses from the Dilapidated Temple Sculptor’s Idol. Moreover, players win money and XP from bosses and minibosses to get items and upgrades.

You can now play as Negan from The Walking Dead or Frost from Mortal Kombat 11 in Resident Evil 2 Remake
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/you-can-now-play-as-neagan-from-the-walking-dead-or-frosty-from-mortal-kombat-11-in-resident-evil-2-remake/
Modders ‘Marcos RC’ and ‘Wiwilz’ released two new cool mods for Resident Evil 2 Remake. The first one lets you play as Negan from The Walking Dead, whereas the second allows you to play as Frostyfrom Mortal Kombat 11.
Now as you may have guessed, these are simple 3D character swappers. The Negan mod replaces Leon Sheriff’s costume whereas the Frosty mod replaces Claire’s Noir Costume. The Negan 3D model was obviously ripped from Tekken 7 and the Frosty model came from Mortal Kombat 11.
Unfortunately, the Negan mod does not feature any facial expressions/animations. As such, it feels a bit awkward when Leon is speaking. Okay okay, it’s already weird listening to Leon and watching him as Negan, but still.
On the other hand, the Frosty mod allows you to remove her mask and see Claire’s face. This obviously means that her face is animated, looking similar to her default face model.
>> These two mods are also available from Nexus Mods. Here's the Negan one, and here's the Frosty one.

Take-Two attempts to shut down the “Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster” project
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/take-two-attempts-to-shut-down-the-red-dead-redemption-pc-remaster-project/
Last month, we informed you about a Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster project that DamnedDev has been working on. This project was basically a mod for the PS3 and X360 versions of Red Dead Redemption. Basically, think of it as all the texture packs we’ve been getting for the Nintendo Wii/WiiU games. However, it appears that Take-Two is currently trying to shut this project down.
Take-Two got in touch with the modder and demanded him to stop his work. As such, the modder decided to completely halt the development of this project, and promised to provide a video update at a later date.
>> What a shocking surprise!

Titled s0lly’s [CELL]IVIZATION, creator s0lly made the game as part of the OneLoneCoder CODEJAM 2019, a game jam that runs until September 8. “The gamejam's theme is destruction,” s0lly says, “Which is apt for this game’s v1.0 iteration, given that the only way to win is to destroy the opposing team.”

GreedFall Launch Trailer
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/greedfall-launch-trailer/
Greedfall is releasing very soon and Spiders, the developers, released a new trailer. I am not a big fan of their games, I am being honest here. They are obsessed with third-person RPG games. Unfortunately the specific genre is ruled by games like The Witcher, The Elder Scrolls or even Dragon’s Dogma. CDPR has raised the bar so high, that no game since The Witcher 3 ever came close, in terms of quality. There is Divinity 2 of course but it is far from a third-person RPG.

Watch Dogs: Legion’s art director talks about DedSec, London, Buildings, Progression and more
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/watch-dogs-legions-art-director-talks-about-dedsec-london-buildings-progression-and-more/
Watch Dogs: Legion is the third game of the series, made by Ubisoft. The main focus of these games have always been hacking. They are open-world games with driving and combat. The first game made a huge splash at E3, with the gameplay trailer featuring impressive visuals and gameplay. Unfortunately the final game did not represent the E3 gameplay trailer and many people reacted very strongly. That was probably the first blatant downgrade we ever saw, if I’m not mistaken and false advertising became a thing in gaming.
