The fact that people have to make interpretation on the word future seems to be the issue here but what I really see is people own personal agenda clouding their judgement on simple statements.  That is the thing, people continue to talk about something that is in the distant future as if its something happening in the next couple years.  This is the problem of trying to take one snippet of what someone says and try to apply it to the now.  There is no plans in place for Gamepass or Xcloud to be on all platforms but in the future MS would like the service to be everywhere.  When that happens who knows what the state of consoles, PCs, mobile and other platforms will be.  Who knows what state hardware for these platforms will be 5 years from now.  For all we know, hardware will be built within TVs and Entertainment systems where streaming becomes the norm.  Trying to determine what MS, Sony and Nintendo will do 5 years from now is fruitless and it's even more fruitless to try and determine a simple quote where someone says they want Gamepass on all platforms as anything more than a simple future outlook of a service that is platform agnostic.

Does that mean MS will not make their own hardware, who knows.  That statement doesn't say that nor was it implied.  Insead people like you who already have a perception ran with that assumption with nothing more than a gut feeling then anything.  I have no clue what MS hardware plans are outside they will have another console but then again I have no clue what Sony or even Nintendo will do either.

For me and the little I know about english language there is a very big difference between "there is no plan to" and "the plan is not to".

So when MS say they currently have no plan, then that would also exclude anything in the future. If they said that their plan isn't putting these on other platforms now it would be much more direct statement.

I won't keep going at this point because CGI already warned on it.

But perception of the message being unclear to a lot of people is the fault of the PR not of everybody else. And before you try to personalize it in me with a shadow attack, we have people from all camps saying their message is unclear.

If they say they currently have no plans, that only means the now. The word "currently" gives description to the entire sentence.  Currently does not represent any future plans.  If they stated "We do not currently or have any future plans" then you would be on point.

The problem with trying to gauge every spoken or written comment from different people is that a lot of people form opinions without fully reading or even understanding context.  This thread already have shone this very concept which is why simple statements seems confusing when people do not take the time to actually comprehend what is being said.
