Sony would have been pretty weak to roll over on a demand like that. Disney already throws it's weight around enough in Hollywood as it is.

The thing is the article does also mention that Sony never even came back to attempt to find a compromise, the just flat out refused kept it at that. If they didn't wanna roll over on that they didn't need to, but to not even try to figure out something else that works out better for them, especially after all the success they've had as a result of this deal in the past, is still kind of stupid. It's like they were so willing to just walk away from it immediately.
