It's about the Wii and it's need or not of an HD.Stop posting irrelevent stuf anyways, I even saw you somewhere gloating for sending Gay porn through your PS3.(That's what the 1 Gb of pictures are?) Nintendo already denied the development of a HD for Wii. A simple boot-up from the SD disc will suffice, plus charging for the DVD as a channel would take care of the licence fees. (5-10 bucks is still cheaper than a standalone DVDplayer, hope they see it that way.)

Kwaad's point's are valid and spot on, your comments about the porn are unnecessary and stupid. Wii needs more storage space so people can have more games simple. Now the question is how does Nintendo achieve this without passing on major costs to the consumers... I don't want this to go down like the X360 ($90 for 20GB HDD & $180 for 120GB) which is absolute theft, considering you can get a 500GB for Frys for $110. |
How can Kwaad comment be spot on on a wii thread, when in his post all he does is gloat about the Ps3 hard drive capacity on a wii topic? Most users agreed on this thread already that using the sd card to boot games though an update is more logical than a perispheral that many will not find use. The VC service along with Wiiware is not that much demanding on storage space. Plus Wii is marketed as a gaming console, not a media hub for the need of huge storage space. You are right about the porn comment, i'm sorry. It was just an immature post he made in another topic, but i was just furious for again gloating for his ps3 on a nintendo topic, that why i mentioned it. His patronising tone sometimes gets on my nerves, sorry again.

How can my comments be spot on?
1. Downloadable games.
The Wii will never be able to surpass N64 style graphics for downloadable games, due to data storage restrictions. Also, the games will have to stick with lower quality audio to work on compression. Final Fantasy 7 has 4 hours of high quality audio. If it were to come to the Wii, that would be 300-400mb just for the audio. 50-150mb MORE than it can hold. Nothing but the audio.
2. Downloadable videos.
The Wii simply can not do this, as a 10 minute video will run you around 100megs, the Wii would be restricted to about 25minutes of video... with nothing else on it at all.
3. Downloadable audio.
This is coming, I'm not stupid. However the audio quality will be low, and sub par.
#2 and #3 can be solved with a SD card. #1 can not, as nintendo will not risk the chances of pirating the games.
I have in the ballpark of 24 downloaded games/demos. They range from 70mb to 1014mb. In the ballpark of 300mb of pictures, and 70 videos. My videos range from 13, to almost 800mb. Most of my videos are 200mb. The rare SD ones are 50-70, and the 13-15mb ones, are youtube videos I ripped myself, and left the quality horrible low.
I am using 35gb on my PS3.
I assure you. I can not do what I want on the Wii in terms of storage.

Oh yeah, and there's the bragging. I added 994 pictures of a single model earlier today to my archive, incase you were wondering about how much of that is porn. I dont have a single porn video, I have around 1400 straight porn pictures, with around 110 gay for one of my gay buddies... and the occasional comic relif. Working on adding another 4000 of that same model, however I'm not investing the time to download all of her sets becuase I'm lazy.
