Majority of people who play Gears of War, Halo, Forza Motorsport etc play single player campaigns. You only need to check achievement percentages to know this. That's why these games have huge SP focus. And there's a dedicated MP crowd too.
There's room & demand for both SP & MP games and nothing suggest Microsoft would focus on only one of them.
