Nintendo: 1st. WiiU, 2nd. Wii
Sony: 1st Vita, 2nd PS3.
Microsoft: 1st Xbox One, 2nd Xbox.

WiiU is just... ugh. Gamepad was always out of battery whenever you came back to the console and it lacked games.

Wii: woefully underpowered and motion controls should be an option not the main philosophy behind a console. It lacked good third party support and some 1st party franchises took missteps on the Wii. (Paper Mario, Mario Party).

Vita: Honestly if this thing had actually sold it would have been great, unfortunately it's support disappeared after a couple of years. I like the Vita, it just didn't get the support.

PS3: It's ok, but it was a chore to use as it approached the end of it's life in my opinion. It just felt so outdated and slow, especially on the OS trying to load the trophy list, or the PlayStation Store that got slower and slower with every update. The PS4 now doesn't feel nearly as dated and terrible to use as the PS3 did in 2012.

Xbox One: The OS is really unintuitive imo, I think it's changed a few times I used it in 2018. It was really annoying to find your way around the system. The games are ok but as a console it's the weakest of the three and considering I can play all it's games on PC I have little use for it. I essentially bought one as a stopgap until I could get a new GPU and upgrade my brothers PC so we could play Forza Horizon.

Xbox: Had some problems for a first attempt. Duke controller was massive and not good to use, S controller was fine to use but the wires always seemed to come loose inside over time and intermittently disconnect when you moved them. The box itself was also massive. It had some good exclusive console titles though, like Kotor, Blinx, Quantum Redshift, Phantom Crash. It's interesting library, 4 controller ports and generally superior third party versions made it a good console.
