Nobody said Lucas wasn't creative.  The question is about the ability to direct or did you miss that part Mr. Magoo?  And Lucas directed 1 great movie and a bunch of crap.  And no, Last Jedi and Force are absolutely not the worst Star Wars movies.  Episode I is literally trash and II is right behind it.  III is pretty ****ing awful, but is viewed as ok because it ends with a good fight scene.  Of course the fight scene is ruined by Padame literally dying of a broken heart...  lol.  I mean really?  What was his target audience?  12 year old girls?  Of course don't forget Anakin's entire downfall was because he didn't have the "high ground."....

This isn't even a discussion.  If you think Force is worse than episode I-III, than you don't even have a head nor do you have a clue.  Same is true with Last Jedi.

Metacritic:
Phantom: 51
Attack: 54
Revenge: 68
Force: 81
Last Jedi: 85

Not even close there scooter.  The only people who don't like Last Jedi are those who don't like the most powerful person in the film being a girl.  Which is sad and quite pathetic.  And to be clear I am not saying Last is amazing, I'm saying it is without a doubt better than I-III.  I literally can't fathom anybody thinking Phantom is better than Last.

Yes, because Metacritic is the law.

Seriously, though, the Disney Star Wars sequels are written almost as poorly as the prequels, except they have no creative vision at all, it having been replaced entirely by capitalism vision. Shoehorn whatever you can into Star Wars to make it appeal to as wide an audience as possible and please shareholders. We don't know how to make an interesting character of this specific group of people? No matter, let's just make an uninteresting character of this specific group of people. That's the mentality of Star Wars now and the series is basically dead creatively. The prequels might've had horrible writing, though some of its plot points aren't as bad as some say (Padme's cause of death isn't as absurd as you think it is, believe me), but more importantly they had creativity. They took Star Wars into cool new places that felt genuine and interesting, unlike Disney's attempts.

It is just as true that there are a lot of insecure dickheads who blame "SJWs" for ruining Star Wars as it is that the movie is just crap. It has a dreadful script whose only consistent theme is being as unsatisfying as possible. It does try to set up multiple themes throughout, and fails to deliver on all of them, in fact sometimes it tells opposing messages minutes apart from each other. There is no point. You're only there to be disappointed, and that's the only thing the movie excels at.

Non sequitur.  Nobody said Metacritic is law, but it is a good reference point.  And it isn't an accident that Last and Force slaughter I-III on Meta.

Writing wasn't the main issue with I-III, the acting was.  The acting is down right awful.  Christensen is just horrendous and is not believable.  Jar Jar is perhaps the most awful character created.  You want to talk about no vision and shoehorning in things for capitalism, the pod race.  A 20 minute scene that serves zero purpose other than to sell toys.  Inconsistent themes, like introducing darth maul, darth plagueis and metachlorines but never doing anything with them???  Magically coming up with Count Dooku being a powerful sith and creating problems, but yet never mentioned in the original trilogy.  And yes, a young mother dying in a universe of light speed because her heart broke is laughably stupid.  Beyond stupid.  I mean that was the best Lucas can come up with?  The most power force user in history taken down because higher ground...

Look the debate isn't about if Force and Jedi are great films, the question is if they a better than I-III.  I stand by my comments.  Anybody who thinks I-III are better than Force and Jedi has diversity issues.  It isn't even remotely close.

More to the point of what started this debate, Lucas is a terrible director.  He hasn't directed a good movie since 1977.  But please proceed with fanboying away and crying because the newest Jedi isn't a boy.  No skin off my back.  I've said my peace.
