Very mixed feedback from folks. Just going to add mine as well.

I feel the DualShock4 is near perfection, just minor stuff really. It is a big step up in terms of improvements from the DualShock3 we had before.

The pluses (+): DualShock4 (DS4) improves the triggers L2 and R2, from DualShock3 (DS3) so I no longer need to add trigger clips anymore. Basic DS3 L2 and R2 usage needed aftermarket clips so fingers didn't slip-off constantly.

I like the touchpad, personally. It's placement and size is very good, and how it's integrated usage is well done. It's function as a menu or pause button works very well.

Gyro features, I like it. Well done.

Light bar, as a requirement for VR, I understand. But a completely 'off' option needs to be patched in, aside from the current 'dim' option.

Mono-speaker, probably my least used feature. Kinda neat. But I prefer first-party headphones.

If I had to pick something to fix, it would be the placement of the 'options' and 'share' buttons. These are difficult to press, without directly looking down. I feel a good controller is one where it should not force you to take your eyes off the screen.

I do add aftermarket replaceable thumb grips to all my controllers, as they greatly improve control, endurance, feel, and decrease errors associated with slippage.

I also collect controllers, and love the different color options being offered, as well as the exclusives. <3 <3 <3

As an aside, more games need photo-mode, and please please add the shortcut to the d-pad, and not to the 'options/pause' button.

[edit: oops, I left out rumble.  I like it, it helps with immersion, just as long as it doesn't happen during steady-aiming or precision moments.  Its activation is more game-design related though.]
