Facebook is on the prowl for game studios, according to The Information, and wants to seduce people to its VR headsets with the promise of virtual reality adaptations of Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed. The headsets already look a lot like Sam Fisher's ever present night vision goggles, so why not?

The first free episode for The Division 2, entitled DC Outskirts: Expeditions, will go live on July 23 for Year 1 Pass holders, Ubisoft announced today, and one week later—July 30—for everyone else. The update will take players beyond the boundaries of Washington DC in two missions and a new multi-part "Expeditions" mode built around a search for a lost military supply convoy.

Moons of Madness was introduced in 2017 as a game that "aims to separate real mental illness from Lovecraftian madness." James said in his preview that he was "inclined to believe they're on the right path," as developer Rock Pocket Games aimed for a more realistic portrayal of mental illness than we usually see in videogames: "In parsing a family’s genetic inclinations from genuine cosmic horrors, the main character will ideally come to know their illness better, and become more capable of navigating otherworldly terrors as a result," he wrote.

The next Hearthstone expansion, Saviors of Uldum, will roll around on August 6. But before that happens, players can jump deck-first into the Fire Fest-E.V.I.L., a three-week event with new Tavern Brawls, legendary quests, and a community challenge to reveal new cards coming in the expansion.

Microsoft Internet Games services are finally being ended
https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-internet-games-services-are-finally-being-ended/
Gaming has always been a big part of the Windows experience, a relationship Microsoft put a special emphasis on with the release of Windows ME in 2000. It included not just the usual must-play titles like Spider Solitaire and Minesweeper, but a series of five games that you could actually play on the internet—against other people! (...) But all good things come to an end, and so too will Internet Games. Microsoft has announced that Windows XP and ME services will be ended on July 31, while Internet Games services for Windows 7 will be halted on January 22, 2020.

As Ian carefully explained back in May, Goat of Duty is "Call of Duty but with goats". Hence the name, I suppose. And let's not get into why this particular shooting game stars goats, or why, in general, game developers like to include goats in their games. Let's just stick to the facts, shall we: Goat of Duty is available to play in Early Access right now.

Eagle Island, a platformer about owl-hurling, is out now

Back in 2017 a falconry-themed platformer called Eagle Island caught our eye on Kickstarter, thanks to its central mechanic which has you throwing an owl at your enemies. Eagle Island went on to make its goal, spent the last couple of years in development, and is out now.

Disintegration is a sci-fi FPS from Halo's co-creator

Is it a drone? Is it something you wear? Is there someone inside it? I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at in the teaser for Disintegration, V1 Interactive's debut game, but I know those are guns. The important bits.
