"According to an insightful Wall Street Journal report, Sony is looking to make deals with major publishers in order to put the PlayStation 5 in the best possible position when it launches next year. The publication claims that the platform holder is focusing on major, big budget titles – and it’s lining up both timed exclusivity and exclusive content to differentiate itself."

this is actually 3 things.
1) More major publishing deals, of exclusivity.
2) Focusing on major budget titles (their own games)
3) knows its own exclusives + timed exclusives, are what differentiates itself (from competitors)

Thread title , only reflects 1 thing from this news, and in a negative light.
The Wall Street Journals peice, was about strategy, and Sony with PS5 going after Hardcore gamers.

^ this is what the pushsquare article peice is referenceing.

Its about What Sony plans to do for next gen,
and thats basically not go chaseing "bigger audiences" with streaming and such, but instead focus on (hard)core Gamers.

Its even in the title of the peice.

That sounds like a horrible business decision. If its true and they are only focusing on the Hardcore audience than the system will only sell to a fraction of what the PS4 sold world wide.

The casual audience makes up for a lot of the sales for each platform, to simply ignore them will hurt the brand and also push for cheaper alternatives from others.

Unless PSNow is going to be a solid focus point next gen as the alternative, I cannot see a positive outcome releasing another PS3 priced console.
