My take on the second night of debates…

Joe Biden: "Anyways, my time is up."

Kamala Harris: She was on fire! Seriously. That was awesome. Over both nights, she used her chance the best of all candidates.

Kirsten Gillibrand: "Senator Sanders and I..." Kirsten Gillibrand did multiple times spoke about her working together with Sanders, supporting the same plan, that she wrote parts of his medicare-bill. I was surprised by this. Apparently Gillibrand uses Sanders as a way to show herself as progressive (as progressive as Sanders), while present herself as younger and female.

Beside these, most of them did not move the scale much. It still will help the lesser known candidates, as it did last night, but I doubt bigger movements. But Biden might lose his frontrunner status and Harris might move up.

When you look at bills Senators have voted for Gillibrand is ranked as the most progressive senator.

Yeah, I can see that, but Sanders is often perceived (and probably rightfully so) as the progressive star. It seems like a good strategy for Gillibrand to clear up, that she is similarly progressive. And explaining policy is time-consuming. By saying "Senator Sanders and I" she pretty much and fast clears up where she stands. And by the way: last night I felt like she defended Sanders policies more energetic, than he himself did.
