It's not just new IP I'm asking for. But new IP that are unique and different from everything on the market. Capcom 5 was exactly that. Fresh, unique concepts many developers wouldn't have touched with a ten foot pole. Something like that, but on modern platforms and smaller budgets than the AAA stuff would be nice to see.

Yeah but, Resident Evil 4.

And the Capcom 5 was defined in large part by being exclusive, meaning to sell Gamecube hardware, and the game set being 5.

I don't really think just needing to make new IP means any of those things inherently. It doesn't even need to be 5 games necessarily, like you said, just a couple or so new IPs would be great.

Could have just asked why not make unique new IP in that case.

I get what you're going for though and I'd love to see that happen.

I think a "Capcom 5" like project should be done again, just so Capcom has a chance to get it right this time. Game development has come a long way since the GameCube days, and so has Nintendo and Capcom. They don't have to be Switch exclusives, but a collective of 5 or so games all with low-medium budgets and unique, somewhat niche concepts could work wonders for them, especially given their lack of lower-budget games over the past few years.
