Yeah I tend to prefer to play in 3rd person so I can see my character, but some games make sense in 1st person (like anything in VR for instance). That said, the best of both worlds is to just have the ability to switch between perspectives like in Skyrim. I find combat easier in 1st person in Skyrim but like to explore in 3rd person, so I switch a lot.
