Game Freak isnt lazy. They have hardworking developers. 

It's just that they are mismanaged and often make poor decisions. Just look at the part I've bolded. WHY? After having four year gens prior, why do they make them SHORTER, when the technology improvements only means that will need more time? There was literally no reason to not delay the game to 2014.

Other than that, I have a huge list of what I think Game Freak has been doing wrong (which we may not neccessarily agree on). A lot to do with the casualization of the core games, but also other stuff. Though let me just leave it this, my disdain with Game Freak/TPC in a nutshell:

Edit: my mistake. Though Morimoto is still around. Maybe he likes sticking with battle design and programming, which he has done for decades. He has directed two games in the franchise and is one of the long-time veterans along with Sugimori and Masuda. Maybe he doesn’t really pursue directing as much? 

As of now, Ohmori is the director and Masuda is the producer.

Yes I know. Ohmori's the director. But Masuda still has a big hand in the games, he's on the Game Freak board of directors. I believe it's both at fault.
