How the hell are the likes of Maractus, Trubbish and Whiscash your favorites? |
Maractus, Sigilyph and Trubbish were my crutches in my first runthrough of B/W, Trubbish saved me against the electric gym, Sigilyph crushed most of Team Plasma for me, and Maractus singlehandedly took down the E4.
Whiscash - was my first shiny, I still have my original Whiscash from sixteen years ago kicking around in my Bank. I love that goofy bastard.

It's kind of understandable, since they can just pull the assets for all 151 original Pokemon from Let's Go. It also would have been confusing to not be able to transfer Pokemon from one Switch game to another. Trubbish is confirmed according to Serebii. The others there haven't been so far though. I agree 100% that removing Mega Evolution was dumb as hell. Dynamaxing is super dumb looking, I would much rather they had added about 30 new mega's instead. |
That's the thing though - they're straight pulling the assets for Sword/Shield from the 3DS games. The models and animations are completely unchanged for all returning Pokemon. There is absolutely no reason that older Pokemon shouldn't be in, it's not like they're making them all from scratch. Very happy that Trubbish is in though ^_^

Actually, there is a reason they can't do that. It's called Game Freak. They never patched their games for parity before... OR/AS introduce a couple new features and forms, oh well I guess X/Y has to be incompatible. US/UM introduces a few new Pokémon, oh well S/M is now incompatible. They don't do patching because they want you to spend money on their half-assed games. Also, it doesn't matter whether the Pokémon that are missing are memorable or not. First, because, as this thread has already shown, every single Pokémon has those who care about it. And second, because completing the National Pokédex is a big deal for Pokémon players, it's always been the main thing about the franchise, and that's getting removed for no good reason other than laziness. It's one thing to require players to bring Pokémon over from different games to complete the Pokédex, it's another to have those Pokémon missing entirely. |
Seriously. I hate Garchomp, think it's one of the worst Pokemon along with the Ultra Beasts, but do I think they should be removed? No! There are plenty of people that love them as much as I do Quagsire and Whiscash, why should their joy be removed? Not everybody likes Charizard and Pikachu, it's a kick in the guts to those whose favourites are being cut, no matter which or how many make the cut.
