Well they are still mostly socially conservative in the sense that want to not change and progress despite what the world is doing. I do agree with the money thing, however I think the Democrats still spend a lot more. If Democrats win 2020, there will be a huge push for insanely expensive programs Republicans don't want (expand Medicaid, universal healthcare, free college, everyone getting a paycheck even if they aren't working). Republicans tend to just want to spend tons of money on military related things.
Now you've got me thinking if Trump will get into movies after he leaves office like Arnold did again after stepping down as Governor lol.
