Sounds like your having a better time. I didn't want to spoil anything for you, as I find that experiencing as you go tends to be more fun, aside from not completely understanding the mechanics and being held back by that lack of knowledge.

1. The blades are more fun but the axe is very useful, you just need to learn how to use it strategically. Going back and forth between them quickly makes combat way more efficient and you can just slaughter groups of enemies.

2. The two witches are tough. I saved them for later on in the game. There were two or three frost reavers near a dragon that I also left until later. Some of the purples are doable so I did them when I could as well. A really tough fight now and again keeps it interesting.

3. I had a good idea of where you were, and that you wouldn't be going to Jotenheim next, but I wasn't going to spoil that. You're somewhere around 50% give or take.

Yeah, it's been pretty positive all around now, and I'm also liking the characters better after things like the wine drinking scene, and I'm wondering where the story will go with Atreus starting to act bad.

1. Switching between them mid combo (if that's possible) sounds interesting, so I'll try some stuff out and see how I can use them together.

2. The two witches were on my way back to Jotenheim actually, so I tried fighting them again. This time they were yellow instead of purple, but they still killed me 3 times before I managed to finally get them.

Btw, is there any way to miss out on fighting Valkyries? If I go to the end of the game without fighting them for example, will they still be accessible?

I'm going to make extra save files on them so that I can fight them again later.

The closer you get to the end the better it get's, and at the end, it get's really, really, intriguing...

You have to get through the Val's to get to the queen. If you run into one that seems unbeatable, try another and return later when you've leveled up some. They each are unique and they seem to range from easy to medium to hard.
