I don’t know if we should give the portability too much credit. It’s a factor sure, but considering the Switch is $300 and most of the retail games (especially the first party titles that have maintained strong legs) are selling at $50-60. Those were not usual prices for the 3DS and Vita hardware and their respective games, unless I’m missing something. So yes, portability plays a factor, but you’re still paying closer to a home console. Not to mention the various accessories that do not necessarily scream portable.
