Update: As previously noted, both the Governor of Montana, Steve Bullock, and the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, have officially announced their candidacy this week for the Democratic Party.
This brings the total field to 24 major candidates. Of the 24, 19 officially qualify for the first debates later next month. Candidates have until the 12/13th of June to verify qualifications. Given that is still 4 weeks away, we will without doubt exceed the 20 candidate limitation forcing the DNC to enact their tiebreaker rules.
How many candidates have reached the threshold for the debates?
