This guy gets it. I remember E3 2015 vividly, and everyone including journalists were certain that FF7R was a couple years from release. Fast forward to PSX (gameplay trailer unveiled) that same year and people were convinced.

Then......... nothing....

FFVII's 20th anniversary..... nothing...

Then the bad press started piling through, with one man from SE stating in a pulled interview that they had scrapped ALL the previous work that CyberConnect did.

Turns out that was true, because SE went on a hiring spree.

Fast forward to 2019 and that interview rings even more true now that we've seen the character models are indeed different, both on a a scale of character design AND engine design (2015 gameplay was Unreal 4)

SO, here we are again, and now the lemmings are lining up just like last time, saying that the game "can't be too far off now"...

Just like 2015, this new game play doesn't mean ANYTHING...

Yes it does lol. Gameplay means the game is progressing. The game was progressing in 2015 before it got rebooted. It’s hard to imagine the game will be rebooted again, and Nomura already has his plans leading to launch.

Episode 1, you mean?
