That's disgusting.

It really is... like, so fucking disgusting. RoboCop made $242.7m, whereas Dredd only made $41.5m... things like this confuse me. :(

It is disgusting, but if you factor in theater take plus advertising costs, it only made roughly $121.35m for the studio on a total budget of $150m, so it was still a flop. And Expendables 3 thankfully made less than the first 2 movies after Lionsgate neutered it to get a PG-13 rating, which is kinda surprising since they make their lion's share of R-rated films (pun intended).

When will studios learn that watering down R-rated franchises (or movies that should be rated R) NEVER works? AVP 1, Terminator 4 and 5, Prom Night remake, Spawn, Scary Movie 3 and 4, World War Z (yes, it sucked, shoot me), RoboCop 2014, Expendables 3, etc., all shitty movies IMO, most of them flops (thank God). GoodBadFlicks made a great vid on the subject (best bit starts at the 6:57 mark):

They're thankfully making a new RoboCop directed by Neill Blomkamp, also in the vein of Halloween that ignores all the other sequels, that's getting the hard R treatment, though.
