Even when I was a kid playing Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear online dang near two decades ago I had the decency to not spout that kind of shit at strangers... with friends and people I knew, sure, we'd all say crap like that at times because we all knew it wasn't serious, but you have to be a bit of a pathetic sad sack to go around making those kinds of threats to complete strangers over a video game lol
I've pretty much been muting public chat in games for a decade now; a small segment of the community always ruins it. We'll see how it goes, and I've no doubt there will be some bad examples of people unfairly punished, but I'm hardly about to cry on behalf of the kind of douchebags that engage in that sort of shit lol
