Ok I just spoke to a friend in Perth at 1:30AM in the morning my time.
He is willing to talk to you (i.e. take time out of his busy schedule), in person (his family runs a security company) and tell you what qualification you need to get to get a security license. Said it is about $800 all up.
Wants to have an informal interview to see what kind of character you are and drive you have before he makes up his mind on whether you should do the course or not and whether he is willing to employ you.
