Commerce was a useless degree for me. What I believe matters more than some random anecdotal story that they heard some people gain work with a Commerce degree. Obviously they came from a  rich background with lots of opportunities in life. Biggest waste of time and most of the stuff I learned was useless to the real world. So many migrants use an easy degree like Commerce as an easy way to gain entry into the country and qualify for citizenship. Commerce/Business degree does not specialise in anything and is less useful than Engineering, IT or Law degree.  I put Commerce on par with Arts and Science as being a weak degree that does not specialise in anything, with limited employment prospects.

There are no jobs that are suitable for me and I have not applied for any jobs for many years. I pretend to look for work and write jobs down and never apply for them. Why would I apply for jobs that I have no hope of getting? I never mentioned Commerce degree on my resume, because I believe it is a useless degree and irrelevant to most jobs and made me overqualified for those low entry unskilled jobs.

Again with the assumptions.

No these people did not come from a rich background. In fact they were international students, who got jobs and then they become Australian citizens year later. No one to give them a leg up or anything Australia will not give you a citizenship without working. They had to work a minimum of 3 years to qualify and even pass english tests at a certain level to get bonus points towards their citizenship.

You know why they found work? because they do not have centrelink to fall back on as they were not citizen. They did everything in their power to find a job with a commerce degree.

Hell I know engineers who gave up job hunting who had the same attitude as you but in the end they still found some sort of work to support themselves and heir family.

In the end you have to start somewhere, it don't matter hat degree you have. Hell you may not even enjoy the work you studies for and that is fine. I seen people change career paths to something they like instead. They took pay cuts to start from the beginning and work their way back up. Sometimes in life you need to take a few steps back in order to get a run up to leap over a wall blocking you.
