She's not a Mary Sue, looking at the clues of the films, IMO Rey is Anakin Skywalker 2.0.

I bet in Ep. 9 it will be revealed that her mother was a nobody ... but her actual birth father is literally a nobody. She is born of the Force, just like Anakin, there is no father for either of them, they are the only two pure children of the Force.

And in Buddhist style "Chosen Ones" like Anakin and Rey are linked like reincarnated Dalai Lamas, since Star Wars cribs heavily from Eastern religions.

That's why

1.) Anakin's Lightsaber calls out for her

2.) She has Force abilities well beyond what a novice should have. Particularly aptitude with piloting, mechanical stuff, and lightsaber fighting ... all things Anakin was good at. She has access to Anakin's abilities, in IX I suspect you will see her start to experience some of his memories too.

3.) When Kylo tells her she "comes from nothing" in The Last Jedi ... he's literally telling is the truth, lol. There's no father, she's born from literally nothing but the Force.

It all fits and basically closes every mystery box. "Rise of the Skywalker" means the Skywalker bloodline lives through her, since Skywalker bloodline originates from the Force directly and not from a person. Luke, Leia, and Kylo have it by biological birth, but Anakin and Rey are special as they have it directly from the Force.

Your points trying to defend her against Mary Sue status just helps reinforce the fact that she is a Mary Sue.  It was the same road Lucas was seemingly about to go down with Anakin.  Fortunately, he had the sense to change course, or maybe just listened to criticism, and didn't just have him the best at everything for no good reason.

And no, using the lazy "it's the Force" excuse doesn't fly here.  The Force is something one must be trained in to master it, not just master it on your own in a matter of days.  Even the "chosen one" Anakin had to train under Obi-Wan for over a decade to get as good as he was.  Even Kylo, who Luke states in TLJ, was the only other time he experienced power like Rey's, had to train for a decade or more.
