One flawed part in the arguments against meat consumption, is that some suspected ill effects aren't tied to meat, not even red one, if consumed moderately and not cooked in unhelthy ways, but to some harmful meat additives, particularly nitrites and also nitrates if not used together with some mostly harmless, or even beneficial additives, within the maximum daily recommended amount, for example ascorbic acid, that reduce the conversion from nitrates to nitrites.
