I dont get why they made this. They have just release(or going to, cant quite remember) the Oculus Quest, and this seems to be an (mostly) inferior product.

Why not focus on games and give some years for the tech to evolve, so that you can launch a new gen with actual improvements and features?

Oculus Quest is a standalone and it seems like that's what they are pushing hard.

Rift S will play PC games.  It's there to make PC VR more hassle free.  That's why there's no external sensors.

Still.... it feels like the wrong move.Quest is the move in the right direction, even if it desperately needs more power. They could have used the next 3 or 4 years to develop exclusive games to make their platforms more attractive. And with the passage of time, the tech would evolve enough so that an Oculus Rift 2 would make for an appealing proposition.

Thats my take on it.This just feels weird, even if its tecnically targeting a different audience.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
