I liked the Wii U a lot.  But, that gamepad seemed so dated, even at launch.  Paper thin tablets were becoming popular, and here comes a game system with a giant, bulky controller thing with a (relatively) small screen in it.  It just wasn't cool.  It's like the tech world passed them by during their R&D stage, but they decided to run with it anyway.  

My complaint was only that some games REQUIRED the gamepad to be your controller.  I realize that some games utilized it as a map or whatever... but to me, it just wasn't comfortable as a controller.
