I did watch the DF video when the game came out. It didn't look all that much fun yet who knows. Crackdown 1 was fun for a little bit but I never got into it. I doubt this sequel/remake will alter my opinion. When I feel like mindlessly blowing things up I usually go to a bullet hell shooter.
