Technically it should only be strike 3 after ME3's ending and ME:A in its entirety. But the latter game was such a trainwreck that it might be worth a couple of extra strikes all on its own.

The studio have clearly lost talent at this point. Its clear now, a brain drain took place at BW years ago. There is no way they still have some of the best western RPG makers still employed at the studio.

I don't count ME:A becuse that was made with little to no preparation or guidance by a rookie studio, wich got promply closed down after, in blatant mismanagement by EA.

As for Bioware prime, maybe they have retained all of their talent, but they got forced into making a soulless Destiny clone instead of the kind of tight story driven game they are actually good at.

No matter how talented you are, that talent only streches so far. If you get constantly pressured and constrained by a publisher and are worried about the future of your studio and livelyhood, your work isn't going to be at it's peak anyways, add to that being forced to make something you're not passionate about and you start asking yourself 'What's the point?'.

With great talent usually comes a certain degree of specilization. If you have experts for narrative driven games with rpg elements, but suddenly have to work on a team-based loot-shooter with MMO elements, that will take some adjusting...

Being the talented studio that they are might have 'saved' this game from being an absolute shitshow instead of just mediocre.
