By that logic, a PS3 would be even cheaper. There comes a point of diminishing returns. I don't think it would be fair make an even smaller PS4 pro, and have yet another PS4 that is even smaller than it. I think that the base PS4 should be phased out too. If a new ps4 pro is so small, to the point that you'd only save 50 dollars with a base PS4, it really doesn't make sense to keep it around. I'd think it should be removed out of respect to the consumer. Even today, as someone who owns both a PS4 and a PS4 Pro, I never play my PS4 anymore. All my multi-plats are on PC, and for exclusives, they're only on my pro. Putting up with as little frame drops as possible.
I don't even use 4k settings or super sampling, I always hit the performance options.

None of this makes any sense whatsoever. None of it. I don't even get why someone would still own a PS4 after owning a PS4 Pro.
Like, you know there's a reason why Sony sells more PS4s during Black Friday sales than at any other point in the year, right? Why do you think that is?

I don't necessarily agree with the person you are talking to, but I still own my original PS4 despite having bought the PS4 Pro. Mainly because I will own these suckers forever. 20 years from now I may want to fire up a PS4 game (assuming BC is never again a thing) and I want a backup.
More on topic. Whatever makes a cheaper PS4, Pro or otherwise, would be the hope. A Super Slim is not necessarily what is needed rather than just a straight up lower price either due to good old cheaper over time manufacturing or a revision using 7nm but essentially the same size box.
