It's definitely not a premium experience, but they aren't charging premium dollars.  I happily paid the measly $35 for the yearly family plan.  It costs more to stop at a fast food place for a shit lunch or to see an hour and a half movie at a theater.

I can play Monster Hunter to my hearts content...maybe toss some Kart, Smash or Splatoon into the mix.  I'm happy as a clam, if clams are indeed happy.

Anything else they toss in beyond that is just peachy.

Someone mentioned the OS as a detractor of the overall experience.  I think that that's all subjective and up to personal preference, not necessarily that there is anything wrong or bad about it.  Personally, I love the ui's no frills look and functionality.  It's simple, clean and fast.  I do miss some of the social aspect that WiiU had built in, and would like to see better communication options, ala xbl.

The e-shop could use some work, also.  Feels messy compared to the rest of the ui (ie. too busy) and not well organized.

I agree on the simple clean UI being great. We have an xbox one at my new job and i was trying to use it the other day and found myself really missing the simplicity of the Switch's interface. I didn't know what the heck was going on in the xbox, had to keep trying to figure out where to go. From the first second on the Switch it is super easy to immediately start up a game or navigate to the eshop or wherever, no multiple screens and menus to move through.

I agree for the cheap price of the Switch Online its a great deal...as long as they keep expanding out the retro games service. They really need to add more systems soon. If instead of getting a couple NES games a month we were getting 1-2 games a month on each of NES, SNES, N64, GB, and GBA then the service would be stellar.
