I think the big thing they need to do is to start adding SNES and N64 games to show that they truly mean this to be a replacement to the virtual console instead of just a NES subscription (and of course online play). If they do that, well that and add voice chat to the actual system, then I'm very happy with it - in fact I think that its quite a good deal if they do that.
