Heh. Now I have the new editor and there's absolutely no need for the extra line above quotations. Clicking to the left of the quotation block actually moves the cursor there and that way, I can enter the new line easily myself without having to resort to editing the HTML. My suggestion is to not have the extra paragraph above quotations in the new editor since it works well enough even without it.

On the other hand, there seems to be some extra empty space at the top of the editor. It's not bad and I'm guessing it doesn't affect the actual post, but it seems redundant to me.

I'll probably post more feedback later, but off the top of my head, I can already say that quotation blocks sharing the same colour as the editor itself is not what I'm used to on any forums I've ever used. Quotation blocks would probably benefit from having a different background colour. Something along the lines of #f5f5f5 (at least when using the light theme) seems fine to me: it's very subtle but should be noticeable enough. Adding some tint to it might not be a bad idea either, but that gray is the one I could come up with quite easily so there's that.

Editing tables seems easier, although I've just scratched the surface so far and I'ven ever used them too much here anyway.

Clicking the rotate buttons when the cursor is somewhere along text results in an error message saying 'TypeError: settings.base_uri is undefined'. I don't know what exactly it's supposed to rotate, but I imagine something unwanted is happening if it displays an error message. I'm also getting the same error message from clicking the flip buttons (next to the rotate buttons). Anyway, it's definitely not a minor issue and has absolutely no effect on using the editor, so whatever.

I think I like the overall feel of the new editor. Somehow, it feels more responsive to me. The old editor felt a bit clumsy, this - not so much. It's still not the best editor I've used (that might go to the editor used on XenForo forums), but it's definitely a step in the right direction and it's definitely quite usable.

It's actually creating a new paragraph every time you hit Enter, so it's not just 'spacing'. Also, just for the record, I would like to voice my preference for having paragraphs instead of line breaks. I don't feel too strongly about it though and I imagine I'm in the minority, so whatever.

Not sure about the minority part but I prefer paragraphs too.

Yeah, I don't really know either. It was just a hunch, since paragraphs in editors seem to be a feature many people have a hard time grasping since they rarely need to use them. Anyway, if line breaks instead of paragraphs are kept, my suggestion is to rename the text style from Paragraph to something more fitting, e.g. Plain text. Of course I imagine it would be best to have both.

I'll test some stuff here. First, let's have some lists:
  • This is an unordered list.
  • There seems to be an issue with line breaks and lists.
When I put the list right on the next line after some text, it... didn't look quite right. The list bullet went above my text, I think, and it got messed up somehow else as well I think. It started working once I undid the previous list and entered another space before starting the list. I think it then created an extra empty line though. Anyway, on to the next list:
  1. This is an ordered list.
  2. This also suffers from more or less the same problem as unordered lists.
Here be some text styles. I'm sorry for this ugliness. ∇·B=0, which I didn't have to copy-paste from anywhere else, which is nice. Special characters work, I suppose.

Spoiler!
This is a spoiler. Works in an interesting fashion. I think I might like it. It might be a good idea to add a hover effect on the spoiler text or maybe the whole spoiler block so it's more obvious it's clickable. Might also work if the 'Spoiler!' text is either made a button or made to look line one.

Anyway, that'll be enough testing for now. Seems fairly neat so far. Last edited by Zkuq - on 01 February 2019
