*sigh*

I am in the middle of Megaman X6 right now, and anybody who knows this game or this series knows for sure what a terrible game this is. It's insanely difficult to the point where it's actually unfair to the player. The stages are forgettable with boring looks and tedious sections while at the same time many traps and gimmicks are instant deaths. Almost all stages feature boring and uncatchy music and, worst of all, all stages are infected with insanely bad enemy placement and behaviour.

Then there are the eight Mavericks. Most of them are pathetically easy (which is a stark contrast to the entire game), but one in particular is brutal and merciless, Infinity Mijinion. Even with his weak spot exploited he's still insanely difficult. So there you have unbalanced Mavericks in terribly designed stages with stupid gimmicks. What the hell is a Mjinion anyway? And that's another thing, some Mavericks have facepalming dumb names like Metal Shark Player or Blizzard Wolfang, or even worse, Shield Sheldon.

Also, the story is trash and throws the ending(s) of Megaman X5 straight out the window. Okay, who plays a Megaman game for the story, right? But still, a little bit of integrity isn't asked too much. Also, the newly introduced gameplay element of finding soul orbs from Nightmare Virus enemies scattered all across every stage is completely unexplained. You just collect the things without ever knowing what they do. Who thought it was a good idea to have the players figure it out themselves? So what do they actually do? Certain amounts allow you to equip extra upgrade parts, like higher defense. So as you play the game you will eventually receive those parts and see them being nicely displayed in your inventory but can't equip them and get no clue how to equip them at all. Who the fuck came up with this bullshit idea?! I only know this because I consulted the WIKI!!! I don't want to consult a wiki when I play a Megaman game, for crying out loud!

Anyway, I watched an entire run through the game on Youtube and saw what tedious and unfair crap I am supposed to do until the game is done, and I said to myself that this is definitely not worth the hassle. Seriously, fuck that game. I then restarted the entire thing and played just for fun, based on my new knowledge about certain things within the game, .... and now I start to see some positives. Now I actually started liking some of the stage music tracks. Now I actually handled some dumb sections with more ease. And suddenly the entire game became slightly less furiating. I will still never beat this game, but I will definitely boot it up from time to time, just to reassure how bad it is. *end of rant*
