Not wanting to piss on your buy, but there is a very good chance of the TV you bought being bad or you sitting to far.
Mine is 65" and I sit 5ft away from it so I can see the difference. Even on PS4pro that is checkerboard (but unfortunately not many games offer it), GoW I thought didn't had much difference (on FF XV when turning on and off I couldn't see much difference so I stuck to performance mode, because on high resolution sometimes performance dips were a problem on the play) but then when I put on a 1080p screen I saw a very big difference (so perhaps my TV upscaler is quite competent and mask some of the difference when I chose to have 1080p on the content).
