What is possibility of them announcing it soon and maybe in the next direct? Considering they just announced release dates for games without a direct could mean the next direct could have a heavy focus on hardware?

Highly doubt it in my opinion. That could hurt the Switch sales, Especially with them needing to hit a 20 million goal by the end of March. I think they will announce it around E3, actually maybe even later, with a release in October.

I certainly think we don't need anything near the 4K output he's asking for but the rest is fine.

I don't particularly care about the 4k thing, but he does have a point that having up-scaling to 4k done on the switch rather than your TV would be a smart move by Nintendo. especially with 4K TVs becoming ever more present in today's market.

4k? Okay sure good luck with that.

What wrong with his 4K idea. The switch wouldn't be running games in 4k, just up-scaling them. This would make it so TVs less precise up-scaling would no longer be a problem.

Pretty sure it still requires additional performance even for upscaling as the PS4 and X1 have shown which would mean an SKU with significant change in specs, only way that happens is if they go a GB to GBC route with the NS where the new SKU is essentially its own platform.
