I know first week of the year is way better than the rest of the world in Japan. It's something similar here in Spain because of "Reyes Magos".

But i was comparing PS4 numbers not with the weeks before, but with last year's numbers. Did the PS4 not had a deal for MHW anymore in that week last year?

Despite the price cut, i think nobody expected PS4 to reach 100K...

While it maybe true that many did not expect 100,000. Pretty sure many did not expect temporary price cut with two games either. Also no deal was really present last year that really compares to the current deal, it was doing 35,000-50,000 during those weeks. This year it was doing 75,000 plus for most of December. 

Was not PS4 doing way more than that those weeks last year?? 

week 49 2017: 85k; week 49 2018: 74k

week 50 2017: 63K; week 50 2018: 81K

week 51 2017:70K; week 50 2018: 75K

week 1 2018: 91K; week 1 2019: 117K

That's what i'm saying... This year's week is way better compared to the pace last year. Maybe is because the deal is better like you said, but the 3 weeks before the pace was similar.
