RDR2 was also review bombed. And when you take into account what happened after Jim Sterling's BotW review, it's safe to say that Nintedo fans are more fanatical. RDR2 was also review bombed by PC fans and PS4 and Xbox fans who bombed the competing console version.

And RDR2 is the highest rated current generation game on Metacritic. That statement is a fact. If you want to be specific you can add "RDR2 Xbox One version".

And since this seems so hard to accept, lets then add BotW WiiU score (96) to the mix since BotW was released at the same time on WiiU and Switch. 

Numbers are in, I did the math myself.

 

RDR2- 96.79

BotW- 96.71

 

So there you have it, RDR2 is a whopping 0.09 higher than BotW on metacritic.  This is WiiU and Switch scores combined for BotW as well as RDR2 scores for PS4 and X1 combined.  If you are really clinging to that 0.08, I will let you have it.  Numbers do not lie.  HOWEVER...

 

Seeing how you decided to go behind the mods back and change your thread title back to stating that RDR2 is the highest current gen game period, I will say this.

 

While RDR2 has a whooping 0.08 higher score on metacritic, the reader reviews say otherwise.  This makes BotW much better received overall in terms of quality than RDR2 when it comes to the general public.  I mean you said yourself they both got review bombed, so it seems fair to compare them in this case.  Also as I stated before, Zelda is a holder of the GotY title while RDR2 is not.  Also over at gamerankings, Zelda is also more acclaimed than RDR2 there as well.  On open critic, RDR2 is more acclaimed.

 

So the way I see it...

 

RDR2 has Metacritic CRITIC advantage (by 0.08) and Open Critic advantage.

 

BotW has Metacritic USER advantage (by more than 5), won more awards, and has gamerankings advantage.

 

This mean that by what you changed your title back too even after a mod changed it for you once, Zelda BotW is this generation's highest rated and decorated game overall.  Anything more you say is basically hinging on 0.08 and at this point, it is not worth my time anymore.

 

RDR2 highest critcal game on MC this gen by 0.08 as per your OP.

 

Zelda BotW is the highest rated and acclaimed game of this gen overall as per the title you insist on keeping around to bait people.
