I wouldn't go as far as say most are poor quality, just that most aren't the type of games that get huge sales. Up to this point the 3rd party lineup consists mostly of indies, niche Japanese titles & late ports/remasters. These arent poor quality, just not typically huge sellers.

I meant in relation to Nintendo's games, I mean what third party games on Switch are on the level of Breath of the Wild or Mario Odyssey? Heck, there are few I'd even consider in the same league as Splatoon 2 or Xenoblade 2.
