It is technically Gen 9.

There is no argument that could possibly deny that, other than silly conjecture. It is the next generation Nintendo console.

You're contradicting yourself.

If its gen is solely based on it being the next Nintendo console then it would be gen 8, since it would be Nintendo's 8th console. Their 1st console was during gen 1, so if every one after that was the next gen then NES would have been gen 2, SNES 3, N64 4, Gamecube 5, Wii 6, Wii U 7 & Switch 8.

Don't be silly my friend. What I said is clear as day. Switch is a Gen ahead of Wii U. It only uses a different set of values to advance itself. Blue Ocean=Value Innovation. Pure horsepower isn't the only metric in existance. And Switch is Gen 9. End of story.
