But getting better or not getting better, the industry doesn't stop making online multiplayer games, either the game is digital or physical.

The days of physical copies of video games are numbered. Digital sales increase year after year, and like I've stated in a previous post on this thread - publishers and console companies unanimously agree that a digital only market is preferred.

PC games have all but officially accepted this. Everyone uses Steam and physical game selection of PC games is either extremely scarce at best, or completely non existent in retail stores.

Console games isn't immune to this movement, and you can't stop it from coming. It's ENTIRELY up to video game publishers and console companies like Sony & Microsoft. Digital consumption of entertainment goods is the future. The PS5 & Project Scarlett won't be the big push for the digital market, but the PS6 and X3 (placeholder names) certainly will be.

Digital only games is going to happen. Count on it.

I only disagree with you about "digital only". Although PC market went that way, I think console still has a lot a potential among collectors. I guess mass consumption will go digital, but the same way we still have many collecting films/series blu-rays, the same can happen with console games. Of course, those physical sales could become something like 10% of total sales or maybe less.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019
