Well, you can think that the sales are better in that period, or people like me think that were worse back in 2008, we can't know for sure. But i will buy your point. How do you explain then Switch selling 900k according to the total sales of Nintendo PR at 8'2 and the number of total sales from NPD leaks until November being 7'3M, if Switch, only in a week sold 800k??

I sincerely want to know. I will be glad to read a good explanation why Nintendo is giving a wrong number then.

Like you said earlier the NPD could be off by a few 100k's for end of October and it was actually  at 7.1-.7.2m which would add up to 1-1.1m by Cyber Monday and meet the 8.2m sales, The other is that Nintendo PR team lowballed it as "More than 8.2m" to protect themselves incase they give out a number that is a little more than it actually sold, The could of thought it was at 8.4m but actual numbers could be 8.36m and the "more than 8.2m" statement covers them to not giving out false sales numbers.

I guess i prefer the first explanation. I don't believe Nintendo doesn't know sepecif numbers of what they sold. Between choosing to believe numbers from a leak in a forum coming from a secretive corporation, i prefer to choose what Nintendo says.

No, no no and no. Nintendo PR doing their work misinforming people.....oggh. Thanksgiving week for Wii back in 2008 was Monday to Friday (black friday). This 115% record from last year is from Thursday to Cyber Monday and it could be 100k or 200k last year in that period, we don't really know. Yes, some big sales too, but not as big as Monday to Friday week for Black Friday. That comparison with 800k from Wii in 2008 is incorrect.

You do realise most of the sales happen on Black Friday day? I think it's quite comparable

Yeah, i do, but the problem, like i said is that Nintendo knows the actual numbers but this way we can't make a direct comparison because they're not the exact same days, and shoping doesn't work exactly the same as 10 years ago, so there will be people like you that legimitely could think the comparison is fair and haters like me that will choose not to believe in them, because you know, we want another console to do better....XD. But honestly, what i meant to say, is that they could've been more clear and they choose not to, and that makes me question why.

Beside all of this, it seems PS4 and XBO are not that strong this holiday and when Nintendo gives holiday number sales for Switch, Pokemon and Smash Bros nobody will remember this PR because they're going to dominate in December.
