1) JRPGs have been successful and relevant on Nintendo dating back to the NES. Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, the Chrono series, Kingdom Hearts, just about every major JRPG franchise in the book has a history with being on Nintendo systems. 1-3 year old ports of 3rd party games that have already been out on PS4 during that time isn't exactly the most ideal comparison. 

Nobody's arguing that they weren't including me and popular JRPG franchises like those already succeeded on Nintendo platforms but it's the much smaller JRPG titles that struggle on Nintendo platforms like the stuff you'd see from Tecmo Koei, Bandai Namco, NIS and the others. Even discounting ports that were over a year old and including near simultaneous releases, the PS4 still wrecks the Switch for many smaller Japanese games like Nights of the Azure 2, Attack on Titan 2, Atelier, Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle, Ys VIII, Shining Resonance Refrain, God Wars, SNK Heroines, Labyrinth of Refrain, Warriors Orochi 4 and Valkyria Chronicles 4. Even with a mainstream franchise like Dragon Ball, it wasn't even close in those cases when PS4 destroyed the Switch counterparts in games like Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ ... 

There were only 3 instances where I think the Switch performed closely or came out on top and they were Sonic, Megaman, and My Hero One's Justice so disregarding over 1 year old ports, PS4 still decimates the Switch and when the Tales of Vesperia remaster comes around PS4 will still likely dominate as well ...

So, if Atlus and Nintendo really wanted to, they could make the same happen for Catherine and Persona.

How do you suppose M rated action games like those can be translated to an M rated puzzle game like Catherine ? 

Nintendo has had past bouts of M rated games before like Golden Eye and Perfect Dark so it's not like their breaking precedent with Bayonetta or anything. Even the Wii managed to get a franchise like No More Heroes ... 

Catherine is absolutely not comparable to those games in any case. It has a both unique demographics and mechanics that would mostly be found on the games mainly seen on PS ...

Furthermore, there was a 8 year gap between Persona 4 and Persona 5. Even if the wait for Persona 6 were 2 years shorter, that would put it at a 2022 release date. The PS4 will be mostly  obsolete by that point and the fans will have moved on and expecting Persona 6 to launch on a newer, more relevant system, which at that point, for a game like Persona, will be the PS5 and the Switch (or Switch 2, though I highly doubt Nintendo will give the Switch a shorter life span than the 3DS.) 
The PS5 will likely be the #1 selling system (if Sony doesn't royally fuck up their reveal and launch like they did with the PS3 and Microsoft did with the Xbox One), but it still won't have an install base yet to match the Switch, which should still be selling respectfully well at a much cheaper price point with an install base that's also closer to 100m. 

The circumstances are very different regarding the transition of Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter World has been in development since what ? Ever since the release of Monster Hunter 4 ? What's more is that MHW released on a platform that outsold the platform the franchise previously appeared on almost a year ago which was just before the release of the game itself ? It's premature on your part to talk about Persona 6 when Atlus has yet to finish a big project they're undergoing which is SMT V and it probably won't see release until at least 2020 ... (a 2022 release for a new entry in Persona would be highly optimistic given the fact that P5 itself took over 5 years to develop after the release of Catherine)

If you somehow think that P6's release cycle will be entirely favourable to Nintendo while PS4 will stop being a viable target despite the fact that it features stronger hardware than the potential target of the Switch along with a brand that has the strongest post generational numbers then it strikes me as nothing more than your wishful thinking. P4 released well after 18 months of the launch of the PS3 all the while they were still targeting "obsolete" PS2 hardware so to speak in your comparison to the time frame you've measured against the PS4 ... 

If anything, Atlus has shown that they don't care about developing for leading edge platforms since they didn't even bother to release P4 on it's target successor which was the PS3 but that didn't stop the game from being a success. Heck, It wouldn't even be a surprise that PS4 was the initial target for P6 given the fact that Atlus has started to lag with technology since last generation. There's no valid technical reason for Atlus to exclude the PS4 and being inclusive about the Switch if you want to play the game of userbase so badly ...
