Xbox One X will also still be a viable console because I don't expect PS5 and Xbox scarlet to be drastically better. Which might be a great option for those on a budget when next gen starts. |
market outside US is pretty huge.. there are still many places where Streaming services have yet to reach due unreliable internet infrastructure also spending habits are different. If MS could ditch consoles completely and jump on to Mobile Devices and PC with game pass and make Xbox some sort of OS where users can customize their own off the shelf hardware PC Parts, I can see it working.. but the reality is streaming for majority of the world is not there yet, sure the tech has improved but so did graphics and i doubt with next gen graphics and that 4K tv are getting so abundant that we will see Streaming take off in next gen.
If MS does focus on next xbox streaming tech rather than local rendering, they will again find themselves in the same situation as they were during start of this generation.. with cloud and Kinect nonsense.. same goes for PS Now and sony. So for developing countries streaming is not an option
P.S. Hence the reason MS got so much good PR for BC coz people still prefer to play game locally VS PSnow
