Personally, thought it started a bit too slow, the introductory segment is like 3 hours long, I preferred how RDR1 sent you right out into the world after the opening credit cutscene and the confronting of Bill. But once you get through that long introduction and out into the open world RDR2 is great. The game is beautiful, the story is great so far, the attention to detail is unprecedented, the hunting is greatly improved from RDR1 and GTA V, the horse bonding and customization system is great. I'm not the biggest fan of the push for extreme realism though, for instance the new survival mechanics, needing to eat and drink to refill your health, stamina, and dead eye cores. Also not a big fan of the limited inventory space, or the fact that there doesn't seem to be a horse auto-pilot system (something that other games with horses like AC Origins, AC Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, and Witcher 3 all have). Mostly nitpicks for me as I still find the game amazing overall, but it could have been damn near perfect without those issues imo.
