I'm not a specialist on that at all. But weird, because what I found on Dr Baker website is "Numerous studies demonstrate that vegetarian, low fat or vegan diets often result in lower levels of free testosterone". In my opinion it would seem normal to need a healthy diet, so not 100% meat of course (who can be stupid enough to do something like that...).

Anyway, from what I found quickly on Google, at least Japanese middle age men have lower testosterone, and the studies mention mostly the quality of life... But it doesn't explain why part of the young men act like asexual sheeps too...

A little more info on Shawn Baker: He's an anti-vegan and vegetables in general. While he still markets himself as a doctor, he's lost his license; and watching a few of his videos, even if it wasn't due to malpractice, it's easy to see why. When challenged to take a blood test, it showed that his testosterone levels had dropped substantially. I don't know if it is another factor, but in his recent videos Shawn Baker's voice seems to be cracking, getting a little high-pitched.

This article suggests that the reason for lower effect in testosterone in Japan is due to the environment which creates higher levels of binding agents - unfortunately, it's more of an overview and doesn't dig too deeply into details. Interestingly enough they produce 16% more testosterone than western populations.

I think the Japanese population's lack of interest in sex has a lot to do with their super-urban lifestyle which allows for very little privacy. Combine that with the shame culture and there is a huge social barrier. Another indicator is that this is something that has affected this latest generation of both men and women.

The lack of interest goes deeper than just the privacy and shaming issues. I talked to several Japanese couples, even in their 20s without kids, and they told me "For us, having sex once a month is normal, but we heard that European couples have sex several times a week, that's crazy!". But they had no time, privacy or shame issue, they were just not interested and considered us as animals in heat.

Even if you put them in a perfect environment for sex, they will still be less interested in it. The education plays a role (work is the most important thing in life), but there are other factors. Very difficult topic going way deeper than "lol sex robots" anyway ^^
